Transition from Legacy Provision

Transition to life beyond school

With yearly Careers Fairs and support from a Prospects Careers Advisor via the annual review process, transition work actually starts shortly after arriving at Marlborough School. As our students move closer to Year 14, they have opportunities to attend college taster days and sessions so that they can, along with their parents, make informed decisions about what they would like to do when they leave us.  Once Post 19 placements are agreed, we support students to attend weekly transition sessions so that they are prepared and confident to leave Marlborough and move on to their new placements. Annual Reviews are an important part of this process and it is here that students and their parents can discuss the future and their goals, and set targets to help students achieve these. In Year 14, transition meetings also take place in the autumn term so that additional support that may be required, such as support for health needs, can be discussed and planned. It is our goal to always do our utmost to prepare both our students and their families for the future, whatever that might hold.
