Objectives and funding requests

The objectives of the MSFT are to support the young people in Marlborough School to have an enhanced experience in school through additional enrichment and confidence building activities and experiences. The Trust receives requests for funds from the school via a MSFT funding bid form. Bids are discussed during MSFT meetings or via email if below £2000 and the majority of trustees must approve the bid. The bid is judged on impact for our students, and following the spending of the allocated funding, and impact report is produced to the trustees.

Impact

Dance equipment Feb 2025: Following a successful bid to MSFT, a variety of inclusive dance equipment was purchased. Students use the equipment to express themselves and create movements. The equipment also provides opportunities for students to make choices on what they use, and the increased opportunities for sharing equipment promotes social skills too.

Magpie Dance

Creative Arts week June 2025: Students enjoyed Creative Arts week as it gave them the opportunity to explore different forms of art. They were able to explore the different activities and make a decision about what they liked and didn’t like. It gave them an opportunity to explore different cultures that related to the topic of the term (Africa for MPA and Asia for ML). The students were also asked how they felt about the experience through enrichment encounters and the overall responses from students was positive.
