Kato at the House of Commons!

July 2025

We are delighted that Kato was shortlisted for the National School Dog Alliance, School Dog of the Year Award. The shortlisting panel, comprising of representatives from the NSDA, RSPCA and PDSA gave the following feedback:

We were incredibly impressed by the outstanding work being done at Marlborough and the clear commitment to best practice—not only in how Kato supports students, but also in how Kato’s wellbeing is prioritised. It is a shining example of what safe, inclusive, and impactful animal-assisted education can look like.

Kato attended the final at the House of Commons in July with staff and students. Although Kato was a gracious runner-up, his achievement highlights his incredible work and we are very proud of him.

Curriculum, Careers and Transition Fair

Tuesday 11th February 2025

Marlborough held another successful Curriculum, Careers & Transition. We had visitors from local colleges, including LECB, advice forums, including Bexley Voice and social care settings such as Carlton Road Day Centre.  Every student at Marlborough visited the fair to experience the opportunity to meet with members of their local community and, particularly for some of our older students, to have the opportunity to discuss their transition from Marlborough at the end of year 14. Thank you to all parents and visitors who attended the event.

We are super proud of each and everyone of our students for all their hard work leading up the performance and then absolutely smashing it on the night.

Christmas Carol Concert

Tuesday 10th December 2024

To celebrate Christmas students from Marlborough School and Marlborough Legacy joined at the Church to enjoy the Christmas Carol service. The students from Marlborough Legacy Choir and Marlborough School Dynamic Drummers performed amazingly to their carols and some students also participated in reading out sections from the Nativity story. At the end of the service, Christmas gifts that the students had spent their time making in class were sold. This was a very special service and we all enjoyed singing, signing and dancing to our favourite carols together.

Poppy Selling

Wednesday 6th November 2024

Students from our Legacy Pathway and Meadow P16 took part in poppy selling with the Poppy Appeal as a way to give back to their local community. We supported with the appeal at Swanley Asda and helped to raise funds and had a fantastic time doing it!

The students developed their community safety skills, their communication with members of the community, and their social interaction skills. This was a meaningful opportunity for our students to develop independence and preparation for adulthood skills.

Celebration of Achievement

Wednesday 10th July

Each year we all get together to celebrate the diverse achievements of our students during a whole school assembly. This year we were privileged to have a wide variety of school stakeholders to present our awards including the Local Mayor and local councilors. We were even more privileged to have so many parents, carers, friends and family come along to the day. Thank you so much for all of your support!

However, the stars of the show were the students. All of our students have made amazing progress this year in lots of diverse ways and the awards are designed to recognize this. There are only a limited number of students who can win an award at the ceremony and that is decided by our staff team who know our students so well. Congratulations to all of the winners and thank you to all of the rest of the students who made it so special for everyone with all of your encouraging cheers and claps.
