Rebound Therapy

Rebound therapy was founded by E.G. Anderson, in 1969, to describe the use of trampolines in providing therapeutic exercise and recreation for people with a wide range of special needs.

Rebound therapy aims to facilitate movement, promote balance, promote a change muscle tone, promote relaxation, promote sensory integration, improve fitness and exercise tolerance, and to improve communication skills.

Additional benefits of rebound therapy include developing trust and confidence with staff; developing independence, developing strength of limbs, provides a sense of achievement, improving stamina as well as being fun and enjoyable!

Students’ progress is assessed termly using the Winstrada development programme grades 1, 2 and 3.
