Pupil Voice

Pupil Voice

At Marlborough School we ensure that our students are at the centre of our school community and that the voices of every young person are heard. Our students use a range of different communication techniques to express their views and our staff team are committed to helping them communicate their wishes and feelings. We constantly strive to provide learning experiences that meet the individual needs of our students.

Our events and gallery pages on the website show our students engaging in a range of activities that they enjoy.

Orchard Pathway Enrichment Options Afternoons

Each Friday, students from Orchard Pathway are encouraged to choose an option lesson to attend. These vary but often include Choir, Lego Therapy, Art, and Sensory lessons. Class staff encourage pupils to use their voice to make a choice of which lesson to go to from the available options - students may make their choice verbally, using a high tech aid, low tech communication aid such as symbol choice boards, or by indicating a preference in another way. This afternoon also gives pupils an opportunity to generalise skills they are learning in their own class with different staff and students and in a different learning environment.
