Art
Whether you have colourful paints or felt tip pens, wear a painting t-shirt and let your child get messy. Edible paints are fun and easy to make at home too. To make a flour-based edible paint:
- 1 cup flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups water
- food colouring
Method:
- Heat the water and salt on a medium heat and slowly whisk in the flour until the mixture thickens. If you split the mixture into several containers, you can add a different colour to each. The mixture may have more of a liquid base than non-edible paint, also cover it to stop it from drying out.
Let them enjoy the texture and feel of the paint, using their fingers or even their toes. Use a range of tools at hand to you: sponges, rollers and brushes.
