Dear Parents and Carers,
My name is Rebecca Donaghey and my role is Family Support Worker at Marlborough School. My aim is to work with parents and carers in a supportive role. At the moment due to Covid-19, I am available to support parents through telephone advice and I am also able to attend virtual multi-agency meetings. I can also offer support with referrals to appropriate agencies and I am available to help with form filling and application forms if required.
As the family support worker I offer practical help and emotional support to families. You are able to contact me directly via school reception or class teachers can make a referral to me requesting support for your family. Please be aware I work part time, Monday- Wednesday.
Prior to Covid-19 I also held regular coffee mornings, this was a great opportunity for parents to meet, chat and share experiences. Coffee mornings were held on a monthly basis and every parent and carer was welcome to attend. Throughout the year we invited representatives from different agencies and organisations to provide useful information to parents and carers about services that may be available to them. School staff also ran workshops throughout the year.
At the moment it is not possible to hold Coffee Mornings at the school, however, we are looking to hold virtual Coffee Mornings/ Workshops in the near future.
My work with parents is confidential and I hope to build a trusting relationship with all parents and carers, however should I have any concerns about any child’s welfare I have a duty to safeguard the welfare of all children according to Marlborough’s Child Protection Policy.
If you would like to arrange a meeting with me, please don’t hesitate to call on 0208 300 6896.
